Since his mothership recently agreed to begin negotiating a partnership with Napster, Strauss Zelnick's tension level may have just decreased a little. Formerly a President/COO at Fox and V-P at Columbia Pictures, this JFK Jr.-look-a-like is a Harvard AND Wesleyan grad and enjoys a seat on the RIAA Board of Directors. Responsible for the high-end administration of more than 200 record labels in 54 countries and $4.7 billion in revenues, Zel's got it going on. His roster includes love machine Barry White, pin-up girl Christina Aguilera and puff daddy Puff Daddy. Last year, BMG was the #1 distributor of non-pirated music singles, making their new-found "friendship" with Napster seem like... oh what's that word... synergy. ADDENDUM Knight to King's Rook Three. On 11.05.2000, Zel announced his resignation from BMG. He's outta there by the end of the year and so are eight numbers, a decimal and two more numbers.
